This is slightly off topic, but there was some discussion on the Allen Edmonds sale about an upcoming sale. This makeup of their MacNeil reminds me of some of the Trickers shoes. No details on the site yet, but thought I'd post out of interest and in case anyone is looking for a less expensive alternative.

I'm trying to imagine if there's a way for AE to make their products look less appealing.

Also, McNeils are way different than Tricker's, at least the classic Tricker's models. Different lasts, shape, etc.

that's way more than "slightly" off topic

Ha. I was afraid of this reaction; I stand chastised. But doesn't this shoe's makeup look like a lot of the ones that are being created/noted here? The natural sole with the dark brown/burgundy leather. Almost looks like they've been reading this thread.

Tricker's isn't even particularly known for their longwings, although I'm sure they've done them over the years. Moving on...

They are the killer app with jeans. Now see if you can stop yourself from going crazy buying more pairs!

Tricker's was my gateway into English shoes. Looks like I will be eating bread with water for another year.

Interesting, although I doubt this is Horween cordovan as Tricker's is supposed to use Japanese one shipped to Comipel (to color it).
