Anybody have experience with sprained knees? Thursday evening, I was out with my dog Cyrus, who weighs a little over 100 pounds and is extremely powerful for his size. Anyway, he was going for a squirrel that suddenly reversed course when he slammed into my left leg--just like clipping in football. Down I went! When I attempted to arise, my knee buckled under me, and I went down again. Some kindly bystanders came to my aid, and a couple of kindly young people drove me home, while a burly employee of the gas company agreed to walk Cyrus home. (We were not far from my house.) He commented that the dog was much stronger than he looked.
As best I can discern, I am pretty certain it is a sprain of the medial cruciate ligament. I seem to be recovering fairly rapidly and can get around pretty well with the assistance of a cane and often move around the house without the cane. Depending on how I feel tomorrow, I may make an appointment with a chiropractor I have used. He is a specialist in sports injuries and has worked a lot with local football teams like the USC Trojans. However, if I keep mending as rapidly as I have been, I may not bother with this.
Anyway, anybody have any similar experiences?
