Anyone have any personal experience with this color? I know VR has some examples in the shoe pictorial index, but my monitor isn't really doing a great job with them. Is the color closer to a burgundy, a purple, or is it some variant? Thanks in advance.

it actually is a very natural 'plum skin ' color. more purple than burgundy. there 's probably a bit of brown in there , it really resembles how a ripened plum skin may look like more a plum that is the special kind not the standard ones that are straight purple at the grocery market.
very hard for me to explain, but you will know what i am talking about once you see it in person.

it is a very unique coloring on a shoe. if you have a spectrum of colors of shoes already, this is a great addition to your closet.

Plum is a very beautiful colour....
I bought a pair of Garnier II in plum and i love them.....
i went to buy some pewter because i do wear an awful lot of navy/midnight blue suits and i came back with the plum museum.....
This is a deep bluey/burgundy with soul ,with depth and character....

It's so dark under normal light that it definitely appears burgundy but without any of the unattractive (IMO) redness that is normally part of that shoe color.

Wish list is the key. That being said, the Philip II. It's close to the perfect RTW shoe for me.
