Is this Kiton tie too "fancy" for a young professional?

Hi all -- I came across this Kiton tie and was seriously thinking about buying it. It is a seven-fold, golden tie with blue/orange paisley. I really like the appearance of this tie, and I could use a nice golden tie for my wardrobe. However, but I wanted to ask some of you more knowledgeable members to comment on what you thought about it.

Also, I'd like to wear this tie to meetings and potential interviews, but as a relatively junior person at an investment bank, I was wondering if the tie would be appropriate or if it would be too "fancy" for someone of my age and rank, and whether it would be suitable for interview attire.

What do you guys think? Any thoughts would be much appreciated, as always. I've posted the pictures below.

I don't normally care for paisleys but I quite like that one. Save it for something more of an occassion though; I don't think it is appropriate for an interview.

It's a very attractive tie, but I wouldn't wear it to an interview or to a first meeting with a client. I think you could wear it without any backlash if you either save it for special occasions, or wear it when the rest of your ensemble is fairly low-key.

I think you all need to rub some manure between your legs and grow some balls. If you like it, buy it and wear it. Nobody will think you're too hot to trot because of a tie.

I think the color is fine, but these particular paisleys look like sperm.

With a solid navy suit and white or light blue shirt, that tie is going to pop wonderfully and still be conservative and elegant. I'd rock it on an interview or to meet a client. In fact, with a blue suit and white shirt, I'd say it's practically the classic banker's outfit.

In what country? A shiny gold tie is clearly not part of a classic banker outfit here in NYC. Any small animal/vegetable pattern tie from Hermes or Ferragamo would qualify as a classic banker tie here

It isn't too fancy for a young professional, but it may very well be too ugly for one.

Is the world of investment banking that sensitive and acute (I'm really asking)?

As a young guy in consulting, I think two things when I see someone well put together (that is, considering more than just the tie):
1) They care
2) They're capable of doing something about it

There is really no subtle line in my mind between 'well put together' and 'too well put together.' Considering what you can go down to TJ Maxx and grab off the shelf, I just don't see how it's possible for someone to judge, accurately across the interview table, 'Hey, that's a Kiton 7 fold, this fella's too big for his britches' instead of 'Hey, he's wearing a nice tie, A for effort'

A lot of my fellow associates wear Hermes and Ferragamo, but I've not generally been too interested as the animal/vegetable patterns I usually see look too "casual" (or cutesy) for me. I think I'm probably in the minority here, though. However, I do see a lot of VP's and up wearing Kiton, and I tend to like the patterns of these ties a lot more...

Anyway, I'm excited that this topic has generated so much discussion already...it's been nice hearing everyone's opinions so far.

I've yet to see any VPs and up wearing Kiton. I don't even think they know what they are. But then again I don't really see anyone wearing pocket squares. Maybe some relationship guys do that.
