Well, I kinda sorta (really) wanted a Gransfors Bruks, but didn't want to drop the $$$ on a seasonal-use item that will probably rust anyway. If it splits oak efficiently then I'm a happy man.

I wanted to get a Gransfors for a while though it probably would see limited use also. I may go whole hog and order a Lee Reeves axe like the one below.

Nice! I have an FE also. I really appreciate being able to flip the glass for the FE onto my D200, also. My big kit these days is both a film and digital body with a few lenses. Best of both worlds. ~H

Lens interchangeability is one of the reasons that pushed me over the edge. Nikon is great in this respect. Plus, the FE can use practically every single lens Nikon has ever produced (with very few exceptions).

BTW, I got the camera today. It's in pristine condition. I can't find a single issue with it, except that the seller didn't include a strap. Now, I have to hunt for a thin leather strap on fleabay.

Some of the manual focus Nikkors are a fantastic bargain. You'll want to get at least mostly AI lenses, but they should be easy to find and cheap. The pre-AI lenses will be cheaper, but to use them you'll have to flip up the aperture ring link tab and use stop-down metering. I used to do this with my FM and it never bothered me a bit.

A couple of lenses you might consider are the 105mm f2.5, which is legendary as a portrait lens, and the 80-200 f4.5 one-touch zoom. Prices for these, at least in Tokyo, are under $100!
