Thanks for the generous comments ... except AAS.

AAS: I spent some time considering whether the tie was too busy but ultimately decided that the it actually works just fine. I understand that views could differ about whether it's over the line, though. I don't always get it right, but I don't agree on this one. The square is also not that busy, so I'm struggling with that comment.

I think the square pairs very well with tie. I think the square pairs very well with the jacket. The square is not busy at all. The colors of the tie and jacket work nicely. I just don't like the tie and the jacket pattern together. It's really the tie that isn't doing it for me. Four stripes all different colors and widths? That's crazy to me. And to pair it with a windowpane jacket is .

I still hold your fits in high regard. I agree that you are one of the best dressed posters on SF. Feel free to ignore my prejudice against ties of this type. That's really all it is in the end.

Jacket and shirt look very spring/summer, tie looks fall/winter. Though depending on what kind of fabric the tie is, I could deem it acceptable.
Mohair blend. It definitely does skew fall/winter, but I like mohair for warmer weather, and I do love me a dour summer tie from time to time.

No, I won't ignore you! I like the discussion and was genuinely curious about what wasn't working for you, since I think you have a good eye. That helps me understand. And thanks for the kind words (I really wasn't looking for them, just actually wanted to know more about what you didn't like).

I had the sleeves lengthened on this sports coat, and now I think that they’re too long. (With my extra-long arms, I didn’t think that was possible!)
What do you think?

Definitely. And though you didn’t ask, I’d also say that’s way too many different patterns and colors all thrown together.
