Cleav and Adolesco, your photos make me wish I were European.  Cleav, I hope the Englishman in you doesn't take that moniker as a slight!  Great fits, both of you.

I thank you sir :D

No offence taken!

Crosspost from the Friday Challenge (Knit Tie) thread......

Seeing my local politician and wearing a Brooks Brothers Madras jacket and ecru PPBD shirt, Roosterknit knit tie, Squarextraordinaire ecru pocket square, Orvis trousers, white socks (yes, white socks), and Allen-Edmonds tan suede Strandmoks.......

I'm going to weigh in on the @Sander light-suede-shoes debate. It's a good fit but not a great one, simply because the shoes are just too attention-grabbing here. Note the length of the trousers. They are a couple of centimetres too short. This, combined with the light socks, creates a high-contrast colour block at the bottom end of each of his legs, which draws attention downward; a tendency further encouraged by the vertical stripe in the suit fabric.

Shame, because the rest of this fit is great; in particular, the colour play between tie, shirt and jacket is really subtle and nice. But you hardly see that because of what's going on down below.

The fit would have worked beautifully if any one of the following had been implemented:

- trousers slightly longer
- socks to match trouser colour
- shoes slightly darker
- no pinstripe in the suit material.

The shoes are not by any means "wrong" in themselves; I'd love to own a pair like that.

So, basically, wear a completely different outfit? :D

Yeah, but no, but yeah, but no, but I'd call Sander's fit 'Pitti-ready' and no offence meant. For me the wrongness of the shoos is a matter of formality rather than color. EliodA wears chestnut shoos with darkish topside,.. successfully IMO and others, jif thumbs mean anything

But this suit is quite formal, as far as I can tell with my crappy screen.. something for meetings & the boardroom. The shoes are sexy austerity-brogue brothel-creepers and even the Duke of Windsor wouldn't mix those with with a navy chalkstripe.

Edit: Did a search. He came close
