One day, baggy and loose will come back into style, and then I'll finally be ahead of the curve instead of miles behind it.

What's the red detailing on the sleeve?
Little red x's. The Holland Esq. designers must have been feeling funky that day. They're also at some of the pocket edges and the lapel buttonhole. The final buttonhole of the sleeve is done in yellow thread too. All very amusing.

Over here, there are vague noises about forcing cigarettes to be sold in plain unbranded cardboard containers. If that ever happens in the States, you better stock up on the brown ties!

You should consider also posting this in Manton's conservative business dress WAYWRN thread; it certainly meets the criteria for that thread's discussion too IMO. Very nice.

Alas! The tobacco lobbies in this country are far to powerful for such a thing to ever happen...especially after they were finally forced to remove terms such as "Lights" and "Ultra Lights" from labels. Just wonder though how one would be able to tell if what they were getting were SIlk Cut of B&H Golds
confused.gif
And if ever there was an excuse/insentive to buy more ties, especially brown ones...this one would certainly be a darn good one

I have only ever found them at TK Max!
That said one of my well-healed though slightly inebriated customers, seemed to know all about them as a mid-range shoe company.
I have the same model in brown pebble grain, a pair of burgundy semi-brogues and a nice pair of chukka boots...all reduced to next to nothing...I think original retail is around £160-£200?
Both the Long-Wings have commando soles (the ridged rubber tread) , the chukkas have the same chunky double sole & the brogues are fairly sleek by comparison, though in need of a resole.
Hope that helps.

I saw them there recently and am toying with picking up a pair of boots

Looking good, Upr (or do you prefer Crusty?). I think your PS is properly not matching...

Sir! Please refrain from speaking my thoughts before I have a chance to post them!

A bit of the tweed for the rainy day. I'm not sure what's going on with the waist in the first picture. The SC isn't tight, and although I do think it could stand a couple of alterations, I swear that this isn't how it looks typically. (Note the open quarters, Nii...

You've already received a lot of commentary on this, but I don't think I've seen the one thing that immediately popped into my head upon seeing this pic: That is a jacket that just doesn't need a PS. It has so much visual interest that I think it's better without (though I can imagine this might not be to your taste).

Nice to have you back in the thread. I liked quite a lot of these, but this suit/shirt/tie/lack-of-PS combination is fantastic. I disagree with the shoes and lack of socks, but you knew that already.

Nice combining, SB. I know you issued a disclamier, but something is really off in the midsection of that SC.

Sugarbutch, I wonder if you have a habit of standing more upright for your pictures than IRL. If so, that would create the appearance of a short front/long back balance problem with your coats, which (depending on the coat) would tend to make the quarters appear more closed or create those back/side ripples, or both.

Jesus Christmas people, how is this just passed over?????

here is a well dressed man (yeah I know most here will think it's too boring). At first glance nothing stands out but the fit. Everything fits well, nothing overly sharp or tight. Then as you look closer you notice patterns/textures. A great brown grenadine adds texture and a bit of pop to the outfit. The jacket and shirt are both patterned, but neither so garishly nor loudly that they clash. can't tell about the shoes but the color works with everything else. Other than the tie and the pants, I probably would not wear any of these but it works great here. Basically, here the man comes first (that's what she said!) and the clothes second. Stands out in a quiet way, if that makes sense.

They also seem to be consistently larger than stated...maybe thats why they're in the discount store!

If you see any black boots in a UK 11 and don't mind posting please PM me!

The camera or my monitor lied - cream sounds good!
