Has anyone had Earnest Sewn jeans made at the NYC store?

i've been looking at this option, might check it out this winter on my trip to the big apple. Has anyone had a pair of "custom" earnest sewn jeans made in their flagship store? If so, will you share info and experience, general cost of having a pair made, and what you think of them?

I've been meainng to do it for a long time, too, and would love to hear anyone's thoughts.

I do know the people who work there are helpful and nice, which is always a plus in these sorts of experiences.

I have a pair of customs that I bought during one of their sample sales. Construction is good, except for single stitched hems. Some of their limited selvage denim comes in unusual hues. The denim looks very nice fresh, but one workers black pair of customs looked like it has dust on it, instead of natural wear. I'd be very worried about how these age, as it looked like the denim wasn't dipped enough, plus they are pretty thin. In terms of fit, you pick your favorite Earnest Sewn fit.

I don't think its worth the money. Prices have gone way up over the past year (their limited denim used to cost $500 and now it costs $800). The unlimited denim isn't special and you would be paying upwards of 400 a pair. I picked out buttons and rivets, which is cool, but really a novelty.

I would much rather have 2/3 pairs of Japanese denim at 45rpm, Blue in Green, or Rogan (they have some great hemp/cotton selvage and silk/cotton selvage).
