I have very wide feet.
I have 3 pairs of Allen Edmonds -- Park Aves, 5th Aves, and Delrays. All are size 8, 3E. They were all pretty snug in the toes when I first got them, and all needed both a fairly lengthy break-in period in addition to stretching to create some room for my pinky toes. In reality, my foot width is probably between 3E and 4E. The AE 3E's work, but needed work. They all have some gape around the mouth when walking, however.
Alden makes some dress shoes in 4E. Looking back, I probably should have just ponied up for these. All my 3E AE shoes still get a little cramped at the end of the day, especially in summer.
I have a pair of Grant Stone longwings in 3E, in their Leo last. These are quite roomy and nice, especially when my feet swell. They needed tongue pads to fill the volume around the instep, however.
