Furniture in the US is so cheap!

Though I'm not sure of Nieman Marcus's quality - I'd assume good based on their clothing.

Personally, I'm not into mass production furniture; I only buy antiques - some compensation is I know you guys in the US pay a hell of a lot more for antiques than I would (and least the French ones I buy)

The Linley stuff looks pretty good. The Neiman stuff looks regularly upscale

Well, the Lindley looks great. Not sure about the fabric on it. I like the updated chesterfield. the Neiman thing is just bad IMO.

Various, Sotheby's, Christie's, Mallett, and Bonham's made up the bulk of it, but I have friends in the trade too, Huntington Antiques in the Costswolds, which specialises in early English furniture, but is a close friend of mine, so has sourced many rare pieces for me, Appley Hoare Exterieur, on Pimlico Road, Howe and Ross Hamilton Limited both also on the Pimlico Road.

I don't know whether you noticed, but the Linley does not come with fabric, which makes the price all the more ridiculous.

Some very nice pieces - I particularly like the room itself, though. My tastes are more to the far modern side, but this is nicely done.

I assume you used a professional decorator (and I mean that as a compliment)? It's just the way the textiles are matched or rather "go" with each other that seems professionally done. It reminds me of David Hicks' style.

Is the bedroom wallpaper from Colefax & Fowler?

Last time I had commented that Bouji's house had elements of Madeleine Castaing's aesthetic.

Mallett also has rather nice English and French items. As for Hicks, where are the tablescapes?

You're right about the tablescapes, LK, but I think Hicks' bold use of colour is more important than the sometimes over-precious table arrangements he made. No, I did not use a used a professional decorator, it was mostly done by my wife, though I did also choose and sourced most of the pieces; she just told me the kind of style to look for.

The bedroom wallpaper is indeed from Colefax & Fowler.
