1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

It's been done, and the entries were thoroughly unimpressive. It was a little bit of time ago, so it might be time for a retry.

Once again, like every other contest or thread in this subforum, the people who look the best who aren't wearing ties also aren't wearing tailored sportcoats. If I could change one thing about CM, it's that people would stop using 1963 standards for casual clothing.

Want to wear a tailored sportsjacket? Fine, but wear creased pants and leather-sole shoes. And don't pretend that anyone will perceive what you're wearing as casual, ever.

If you want to be seen as casual, don't wear a traditional sports jacket. Or invent a time machine.

I know NOBD pulls it off (but doesn't in this thread, since his jacket isn't very traditional), but he's been the exception proving the rule for years.

I'll only add that I'd like to see everyone aspire to a casual vibe in what they wear, but in wearing tailored clothing, you do this in subtle ways. The MC Casual thread has been a travesty, from start to finish.

He's entirely right, wearing a sportcoat is not associated with a casual look, the general perception will be that you are "dressed up". I can't believe it is a controversial statement.

I like how the people who are most likely to dress with their fellow men's forum members in mind and not, you know, the people they interact with in the real world, can't event win contests on the forum.

    It's funny, but ultimately tragic.

Not winning contests on an internet forum is tragic indeed
