I don't want to offend anyone here, if this is your eBay store, but what is the thing with huntersbarginwarehouse? Filson stuff at really low, low starting bid prices. Does anyone know anything about them?

The hideous frankenfilson. Still some issues to address, but nothing urgent.

Day 9, yes this is a lot of days... haha.
Tin Cloth Work vest. This thing is awesome and should have gotten one like it a long time ago. It adds a ton of warmth and is exceptionally durable. I have worn this more than any other individual piece this early winter season and think it’s going to become one of my all time most worn items.

PS. I went on a mission (from my couch) to track down an item I’ve been wanting for a while, thought was sold out, then showed up again during the sale just to be sold out immediately again. I’m happy to say I was able to track it down but it will not arrive in time for the 12th day. It’s a small thing but I’m still looking forward to it!

@speedy611 I wonder how moon is going to like his new fren;)

Excellent question! (Moon is our other Siberian that has appeared here a few times). We will introduce them slowly and hope for the best.

Look forward to your mystery item whenever it shows up.

Day 8ish.

The small Pullman which I acquired in a trade with a fellow member. Really enjoy this bag and think it’s a great compromise between classic Filson aesthetic and function.

carry it on a lot of weekend trips and a few work trips. Great bag!

I did change out the strap to one of the nylon seatbelt-style straps instead of the leather as my first carry I though the leather was a bit too uncomfortable (it was loaded up). View attachment 1302645 View attachment 1302645

Glad it’s working for you!

I haven’t participated much, but here is the duffel I traded to for the Pullman above and my wife’s Filson backpack. Both of these are fantastic travel items and the pics below are from a recent weekend run we made.

On the 9th Day of Christmas...Great Jones Filson gave to me...my new favorite hat. The Otter Green Logger Cap (Build Date 0117). Bought at Filson Great Jones in NYC.

Made with 12oz Rugged Twill it is still very stiff and it keeps my dome both dry and warm. It’s already saved my six more then a few times including one heavy NYC downpour walking back from the Javitz Center to NY Penn Station (pictured below). This is technically my first garment item, and certainly not my last.

Day 10? Christmas came early in my house as we exchanged gifts with the kids. My daughter - age 22 - just got her first job this year so had a little more money for the gifts she’s historically gotten me.

I’m now the proud owner of a Filson medium dry duffle.

Never had one of these (I’ve had small dry bags for water activities but never one this size)

Have any of you ever had one? Any thoughts on them? I think I should keep it as it was a gift, but really curious if I’ll use it all that much.

The close-up pic is mine, the larger pic is from the Filson website

That is a very thoughtful gift. I have few items (like a Tiffany's money clip) that I wouldn't have necessarily bought myself, but were gifts so I enjoy them for sentimental reasons. If you aren't in and around boats and water, I could see using this bag as a 'checked' bag as it would be nearly indestructible, but more likely, I would keep in the trunk of my car with a change of clothing, cold weather gear, flashlight, blanket, emergency gear: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bug-out_bag

Day 8. The Large Travel Tote. Introduced and Discontinued in short order. More sporty than rustic. Interesting due to the mix of materials: navy twill, orange twill, tan tin cloth, tan cover cloth lining, green key strap. Pockets inside and out. Like most totes, very comfortable way to haul gear through a terminal compared to wide body duffles on a strap (like my LTB). Good for 3-4 day trip. And one of the bags from that era that I have where the leather did not pill on the underside!

I have this bag in the otter green/tan color way and love it!

Day 10. Here’s a shot I took way back when I was just starting my Filson obsession. Although this says safari tent, the shot was taken in the remote outback of Western Australia. I was on a business trip where we flew in by Cessna to visit a rural school. The 258 was hauling MacBook Pro and big DSLR, and the Pullman had everything else. Unforgettable trip for lots of reasons, and both bags were fantastic.

@mgrennier - I think that’s a lovely gift. I’ve been interested in getting one of these myself, so will be curious to hear how you like it, and how it packs/ carries.
