That is because those US retailers have already taken care of the custom issues for US customers.

Absolutely, this is always a potential issue when buying from any retailer outside the US. Within the US this has already been taken care of and built into the price.

I've been e-mailing with Skoak the last couple of days trying to get a price quote for a Galway MTO.

Is it really not possible to order a shearling-lined Galway? According to the Skoak person I'm volleying e-mails with, Galways can be ordered on the 202 and 82 lasts whereas shearling-lined boots are solely made on the 64 last.

Does that sound right to you all?

Yes, that sounds right to me from what I know. Are you not wanting 64 last?

Based on my recent emails exchange with them, the Galway MTO can be on 82 or 64 last.

I'll take a 64 last. But maybe there is some language issues going on because I don't believe I can order a Galway on the 64 last:

From Skoak: "The Goodyear welted Galway is available on the 202 and the 82 last while a Shearling lining boot is made on the slightly more generous 64 last."
Me, clarifying: "So am I to understand that a shearling-lined Galway is not possible via MTO? Galways are available on the 202 and 82 lasts while the shearling-lined boot is available on the 64 last only?"
From Skoak, in response: "Yes, the Galway and all other EG models are available to order as a MTO but the lasts which you can choose from are slightly limited."

You can order a shearling Galway on 64 MTO. They are saying shearling is only available on 64 and is available MTO.

I understand handcuffed I think he means there is no use in going MTO route for last #64 shearling lined since this is standard available from EG. So going MTO is causing extra charge for nothing.

Skoaktiebolaget shipped them using TNT, but UPS delivered them here. The extended ship time though has turned me off of Skoaktiebolaget for future orders. Other dealers have a much quicker delivery time. Leffot-1 day; Leathersoul and Leatherfoot -2 days; and as I said before both Fosters and Cleverley had them delivered next day via Fed Ex.

Sorry to hear that. When was this?

We have had some issues with TNT and are considering changing express courier.

Usually TNT delivers within 2 days but though. My main issue with them is not delivery times.

We rarely get complaints regarding delivery times, please PM me if you have any feedback that can improve our business.

No, Skoaktiebolaget didn't seem to care when I raised it with them. I'm glad you had good customer experience with them, but I can't say he same.

Wait, this does not sound right at all. Please PM me order number or your e-mail address and I'll look into this myself.

I think maybe the confusion is the 64 is veldtschoen construction.

Yeah, i think ultimately that was the trouble.

So... are there five others out there that'd want to do a 64 last/antique dark oak lower/mocha suede uppers with shearling lining galway? ;) PM me!
