1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Anyone have the Warwick boot on the 606? If yes, sizing advice relative to 606 shoe models? Or relative to lasts 202 and 82? Thanks Gents.

Well, asking if the boots are EGs on the EG thread is pretty bad :embar:

The most obvious answer I think would be any shade of grey, but I also think they would pair nicely with browns as well. I have a pair of Camel Harris Tweed trousers that they would look stellar with.

We are putting together a MTO for navy Galways with shearling lining. PM me if you are interested.

So fellow EG enthusiasts, I am trying to put together a shearling-lined Galway MTO and present it to Leaves for potential delivery in the fall. We already have 3 confirmed forum members, so we only need 3 more. Please PM if you are interested. Specs are as follows (let me know if I missed anything):

    82 Last 64 last
    Galway Shearling Lined Boot
    Midnight calf lower
    Navy suede Upper
    360 degree flat welt
    Matching eyelets and speedhooks
dark brown welt and edge trim
    Dark Brown Dainite sole

Here is a great example of how gorgeous this boot is:

And the shearling lining looks as follows:

Recently acquired a vintage pair of Sandringhams in almond country calf. They're around 20-25 years old (EG couldn't locate a record for my pair when I contacted them). After seeing the amazing things some members are able to do with a little polish and elbow grease to develop patinas on their shoes, I thought 'How hard could it be?', and decided to go nuts with some polishes on the EGs. Boy, was that stupid!

    A couple before pics:

After saddle soap, conditioner, a coat of meltonian london tan, and four coats of saphir mahogany; I am left with

Was trying for these: http://leffot.com/shop/edward-green-bauxite-sandringham/ while paying 1/3 the price. Didn't quite get there (the london tan polish was a poor choice), but I'm still pretty pleased with the results. The darker colour hides the marks on the leather near the welt pretty well, and they are more rose-hued (what I was going for) than can be seen in the photos.

for those of you that own the EG Beaulieu in dark oak, what color polish do you use? I've looked at the various Saphir offerings and nothing seems to be a close match to dark oak. Would using a neutral polish be safe? Also, do you use a wax polishh or cream polish?

I use saphir dark brown (no 5). Cream first, then polish.

For dark oak I typically use neutral cream, then neutral polish.

The 606 last fits like the 202. 82 is narrower and slightly longer.

    Round toe 202 = 606 Square Toe
    Round Toe 82 = 888 Square Toe

I'd use mid brown. Not a big fan of neutral tbh.
