For those of you in the UK, not sure if you all have ordered any Harris Tweed stuff from Edinburgh Woollen Mills. They generally get a bad rap from the tweed community but they have some nice items - that look great. They are also like 1/3 of the price of premium tweed jackets.

Does anyone know if they have one standard cut their jackets & waistcoats or are they cut differently depending on the cloth?

I'm only asking because I bought a waistcoat and jacket 2 years ago that was quite thin, almost summerlike fabric. They were cut quite loose, more American cut than British. Wide shoulders, not much of a suppressed waist.

I just bought another set, but a different fabric. This is MUCH heavier, like proper premium-grade tweed. The cut is properly British, and a close-fitting tailored look.

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Don't know if they have a summer line and a winter line - but if not nad they simply changed their suppliers or opted for a more premium setup - this is quite a change and has made this a great deal. I bought both for 270 GBP.

Thanks for the tip I hope they have upgraded. I always liked the styles but was disappointed that most of the stuff was poly or poly blend.
Sorry - forgot to mention - this is specifically the official Harris Tweed line.
