His cat is still on display in it's tomb at his home in Italy.

There are two stories behind that cat. It was either killed immediately after his death at his wish, or it died naturally while he was alive and he loved it so much that he had it preserved. To him, his cat was "second only to Laura."

Two cats and a dog - the best of both worlds.

Hmmm.. I wonder, too. In some ways, I can definitely see it; then again, in other ways, I can't imagine Karla having something living and breathing in his midst.

In any case, I think it would be fun to see him in his apartment with all his 18th century furniture playing and talking to his cat, who no doubt he'd call by some uber-Deutsche or Bavarian name like "Herr von Aigelstorfer" or, in the case of a she-cat, "Frau Boxleitner."

Two black cats - the first was a stray we took in just before Halloween, and the second was his younger sister from a different litter.

Of course we have two dogs as well, and all four are roughly the same size.

I have 1 inside cat and about 7 outside.

The outside cats aren't mine. They belong to the block. They are a real trip. They go where they think the service is best. I was giving them IAMS and they came around often. Then some bastard started giving them Sheba or some other gourmet wet food, and they went there. And now some SOB is giving them Tenptations, which is like cat opium! The competition is brutal.

BTW: Here's "Little Cat", my recently deceased baby (18 years old) in her final resting place:

Did you take care of the RJcat's final needs?
