With thanks to @LA Guy, with whom I discussed this before posting this thread, I wanted to let the forum know about a charity raffle for a good cause whose prizes, too, are close to our hearts.

Anthony Delos, the custom shoemaker I write about who is now at Berluti, contacted me a few days ago to ask if I could help him get the word out about a charity raffle, Shoes for Life, that the Chambre Syndicale Nationale des Bottiers de France (the professional organization of French shoemakers) is holding. For 20 euros, you can buy a ticket to participate in the raffle, with the drawing held on the feast day of Saint Crispin (the patron saint of shoemakers) in October at the Moulin Rouge in Paris. The raffle is open to any adult anywhere in the world, with no limit on the number of tickets purchased. The grand prize is a pair of custom shoes made for the winner in Paris by one of the custom shoemakers participating in the raffle, including Berluti, Corthay or Atelier du Tranchet among others, with runner-up prizes including ready-to-wear shoes from John Lobb Paris, Berluti and Corthay. All the proceeds of the raffle will go to the Gustave Roussy Foundation, an anti-cancer foundation.

I have no commercial connection to this and nothing to gain personally from publicizing this. In fact, since I bought several tickets myself as it seems like a good cause and great prizes, the more of you who buy tickets, the lower my chances of winning. But please do check out this cause (English- and French-language sites linked below); you can also simply make a donation if you don’t want to participate in the raffle. And if this sounds like a good cause to you, please, please do spread the word too.

Hello all, I'm refreshing this since there's still time to buy tickets for this: your purchase price goes to cancer research, and you get a chance to win a pair of French bespoke shoes. Everyone wins! Deets are in the original message below. [As always, I have no commercial connection to this and am publicizing this out of friendship with custom shoemaker Anthony Delos, chair of the national shoemaking guild of France, which is organizing this charity raffle.]

I'm re-upping this as there's still time (through mid-October) to buy charity raffle tickets for this event. All proceeds go to cancer research through the Fondation Gustave Roussy; entrants have the chance to win French bespoke shoes and other items from leading French shoemakers. I have no commercial connection to this and derive no benefit from posting or bumping, I just want to spread the news for a good cause.
