Both Chukkas and Chelseas are great looking boots!

I have several pairs of chukkas. I have always liked them, I find them comfortable and not that many people wear them.

Thant said, I wouldn't mind a pair of the RM Williams chelseas. If Luchesse made them I probably would owna pair already. I've been giving them the eye for a few years now. I saw some pretty attractive and reasonably priced models down in Mexico recently. Maybe I'll get a pair next time I'm down there...

Chelseas only look gay if you get them with a really high cuban heel and sharply pointed toe (like Austin Powers had)...which were designed to look "flamboyant" back in the 1960's anyways. Some can be tacky and others just look like a cool pair of dress shoes/vintage boots.

I prefer chelsea boots because of their versatility and because they're so easy to put on and take off. Chelsea boots or monkstraps are my preferred shoes to wear through airport security. Having said that, I actually get more compliments on my chukka boots than my chelseas. Go figure.

One more thing,
As with most things, I think this also depends on a lot. A person will probably buy a shoe more for the overall look (like sleakness) than simply the "type", since it will get covered by their pants. I've always though chukkas were more casual than the other two.

I prefer chukkas. The elastic on chelseas just somehow looks "cheap" in comparison to leather. I'm hoping to get over this, but so far I haven't succeeded.
