Ordered the Mrs an 850i convertible in Barcelona Blue and Full Ivory. It's very girly but I'm kinda looking forward to driving it myself on the sly.

A few things.
one is, the fastest street cars around the 'Ring, and at various circuits and events are mostly privateers. Hot rodders and Tuners. so in the spirit of Bugatti,Enzo, and Bentley, remember that modified cars are the record setters. and owners the fearless who dare to push the times.
New car official times are worth a grain of salt.

second.
Loud Cars? Clearly you don't live next to me. or a Rotary fan.
(and in case you are wondering, our house is nice.and has parking to fit 7 cars.)

Third.
@TheFoo your arguments are flawed, because the premise of tuning for a quicker lap time on any circuit does not equate to daily driver utility or comfort. sure, i could make my cars faster. but there is a threshold, where once you cross it, your car rapidly becomes less daily friendly.

Since we clearly love our Nürburgring lap time setters on this forum, I had to pop into the Renault concept showroom to grab some pics of this:

The Megane Trophy R that told the Type R “the FR record is yours...oops just kidding!”

Reading the literature, it’s interesting how the main aero trick is the rear diffuser and basically that’s it (the naca duct on the hood and the side vents route air to it, and it does most of the work).

Everything else is a bit more power, and dropping 130kg. Oh and something called “Bridgestone S007” tires. Never heard of them before, but I’m guessing they’re Bridgestone’s answer to the voodoo-infused Michelins and Pirellis that Porsche and Lamborghini run?

Coming back to this, I’d love to see real pics when you get it, but it looks really striking in this rendering.

Watch out for the ivory interior too...don’t wear jeans in it ?

Bro, I drove a Reunalt luteciaR. Those cars are not joking.

Renault will choke out a Civic type R.

I’m not sure 3 seconds quantifies the use of “choke out” here the same way the Type R (7:43.80) bested the times of such muscle/exotic/supercars times listed below.

It’s a significant gap. At the end of the lap, you’re hustling down the straight at 130+ mph, so a 3 second gap would be more than the length of two football fields.

On the flip side, the Trophy R costs $80k, only 500 units will be sold, and none in the USA. The Type R is much more attainable

So what kind of gap is involved with a 13 second time difference of the 996 Turbo or the 11 seconds between Godzilla (GT-R), not as significant by comparison, which was my serving point, especially for a $35K car, which you illustrated

I’m sure you can do the math, with all the experience with exotic cars that you do

It was more of a statement posed as a question. I actually couldn’t really care any less, never was a fan of the Type R. From it’s ridiculous styling to it’s underwhelming interior amenities. It’s still a mystery that Honda considers it to be labeled as a “not-race car” but then proceeded to strip out the interior of electric seats, heated seats, and worst of all, a spare tire. All in the name of what? Saving weight? They also offer it with summer only tires, which means you're required to spend the money to buy all seasons if you plan on driving it past October.

I’m sure 850 is fast in a straight line, interested in how it feels at the corner though (especially being a convertible)

Anyone test drove Model 3 Performance, seems lots of good review and saw a few guys jump on the BMW forum as well
