+1. Saddle or cognac shell on the Queens last would be great, instead of #8 on the Simpson.

I know it's subjective, but to me, the Simpson last looks a bit too "pointy" for a split-toe blucher.

Feel the same way - makes the split seam seem elongated. Although all look fantastic..

I found Betty to be pretty bad with responding to emails.

It's a hit and miss. Sometimes the reply comes within 1 hour, other times not at all. I think her willingness to answer also depends on the ease of answering the question. Tougher questions get ignored.

I'd imagine your rate of success increases exponentially if you write in Spanish. Remember that English is not their language and every Tom's hairy dick who has asked for an email on a public forum invariably gets directed to hers. So the influx of mail is massive.

Hey folks,

I'm super excited! I just spoke with Betty at the Carmina factory about getting a Carmina Split-Toe Derby created with #8 Shell Cordovan. She said that they are able to source the shell fine. Price is 590 Euro including VAT. If you're outside of the EU, then your price is ~467 Euro or $525 USD. She is not going to charge any upcharge to get them done, provided that I get 10 people signed up.

Turnaround time on these is 10 weeks.

Whoa. These look amazing. I am interested, but don't count me as a 100% commit at this point. I own no dress shoes outside of Allen Edmonds (in which I typically wear 11B), so I am not sure what size/last I should go with. I am thinking size 10 and Simpson last would be the way to go.
