That's a terrible idea. The green you observe is just the oxidation of the copper in brass. There's a shiny layer of brass under that, just rub it with a rag for a couple of minutes every 6 months. A toothbrush will also get rid of it. Don't put vinegar or any other acid on it.

If you used paypal you could have sent them as three seperate packages and claimed the return costs for each package so it would basically be free.

I did think that but each package would have been about £50 at least and would have only been insured for £100 if lost. Paypal only refund £15 a package

Looking at Carmina's Russian calf offerings got me thinking - any interest in a GMTO boot with this leather? I'm a fan of the 80229 but maybe on the Oscar or Forest last...
