I want to know if I'm a fool for looking at a UK8 Carmina Uetam on sale.

I'm struggling to make sense of my shoe size ordering online and some of the brands I have tried on are too niche for last sizing threads. There aren't brannock devices in my bit of the world but my foot sole length is around 28cm.

I wear:

Tricker's W2298 (James Loafer): says UK7.5 but seller says was supposed to be UK8.5. Fits okay width wise, but the tiniest bit too short.

Magnanni Deerskin Oxfords US 9.5: Took forever to break in, fits like a glove at first but fatigue throughout day.

Stemar Chelsea Boot EU7.5, US 8.5: Tight in the toebox but no heel slip.

Nike Cortez US9.5: Fits well, would love a pinch more toebox room, but wonder if this is as good as it gets.

Adidas Gazelle US10: Ever so slightly large

Things that I've tried:

Loake Chelsea (non 1880) UK9: too large

Clark's Desert Boot US9.5: Too Large

Sid Mashburn (Spain) Chukka US 9.5: Painful heel slippage (large), tight toebox.

Sutor Mantellassi Loafer UK8: Too small

Church's Chukka bookbinder (Ryder?) UK8.5: Too Large

Dunhill Penny Loafer (Italy) UK8: Too small

Mr P Lucien Suede Derby UK8.5, EU42.5: Too Large Again!

Bally Scavone Chelsea UK7.5 EU 41.5: Perfect, too expensive

Can anyone weigh in on what kind of size I should be looking at?

I'm also wondering if I'm really UK 7.5 in Tricker's, or UK8.

Hi guys, simple question. Would you be willing to spent €265 / $285 on second hand Carmina cordovan shoes? They are in fantastic condition and I've already fallen for how they look, but don't have the chance to try them on (having read the sizing thread, pretty confident they'll fit).

I just didn't had the best of luck buying 2nd hand shoes or buying shoes in general. All of the shoes I kept were new and had to exchange them at least once. Paying less than half the price 2nd hand is a great deal if everything's perfect, but I could probably also save up for similar shoes in calf skin new for a similar price (maybe ~$100 more) from brands like Loake or Barker of which I know my sizing or return if they don't fit.

On the other hand; this is probably the only way I can afford buying a brand like Carmina. I'm a working postgrad student and spent €1.200 on 5 pairs of shoes last year which is okay, but I also have a limited budget and purchased them with the idea that they'll carry me through the professional life for the next 3+ years.

Have you got any photos ? My only slight reservation is cordovan has much less stretch and pliability in my experience. I have about a dozen pairs and they do mould to your foot but takes a while. If they have already moulded to another foot they may take a while to remould to your foot shape. Love to see photos !

They don't look too worn. Only things I've noticed are two minor scratches near the ankle on the left shoe and rubber top soles. I can live with both of those.

I've got several more photo's, but these reflect the wear best.

Which Saphir creme is recommeded for Carmina's vegano leather in burgundy? I'm a bit in between Mahogony, Hermes Red and Burgundy.

Has anybody experienced any issues with the lining on a pair of Carmina boots? I've owned a pair of boots for about 3 years now. Lining seems to be falling apart where the shoe tree hits it. Rather upsetting...
