I have a sizing question.
I wear 11UK Forest, do I need to size down when I choose a Soller last.
From Carmina’s comparison tool, it seems that I need to go a full size down.
Considering that the tool might be a bit deceptive, I need some personal advise.
Thanks in advance.

Most people don't. It's a little elongated but the ball of your foot should stay in the same place

x2 - you have to be a little careful judging the last tool. For example, I have a few pairs each on the Detroit and Soller lasts and Detroit fits longer than Soller heel to ball. The toe is just a bit elongated on Soller. It's a little like c&j 341 last in that way.

I’m worried that it might look elongated in unpleasant way, specially that I already wear 11UK.
The problem is the model 80179 is being offered in specific lasts where Forest is not one of them.
I still have time to think about and will take your advice in consideration.
Thanks

That’s why I asked, as I saw others complaining about the tool’s accuracy.
Thanks for the clarification.

This may not be your case, but I find a lot has to do with the proportion of your pants. I bit larger leg opening can help with the issue of shoes looking too long

Has anyone used the Vogue suede for the shaft of a calway?

I wonder if it would work. Maybe I should ask Carmina

I’ve used tobacco. Is the vogue a finer suede?
"Our women’s suede shoes are usually manufactured in Vogue suede. We also use this suede for dressier men’s styles such as opera pumps. This suede is thinner to make sure the shoes can be broken in easily although it is very durable too if used with care. "

From their website.

I’d message them then. I have a Calway in the works and asked re suede and shell and was advised not to.
