Quick question: how does the Uetam last go in terms of sizing when compared to the Simpson? Size down half?

Generally we recommend the same size for the Simpson and Uetam lasts since they are our narrower options. Does anyone feel this is not the case?

Simpson is perfect for me in 10UK. Uetam in the same size has a bit of heel slip and I’m trying to make 9.5 work. It’s possible it will work but not sure yet. 9.75 in Uetam would be perfect for me. I would say that if Simpson fits perfectly, 50/50 whether same size in Uetam will work. If a given size has any spare room at all on Simpson, same size in Uetam is likely to work. IMO, YMMV, etc.

Thanks! When I wear my Simpson loafers without socks (which I tend to do), there is a decent amount of heel slip. It feels big overall when not wearing socks, therefore I was thinking about sizing down for the Uetam.

What size would I be on the Simpson considering a 7.5UK Inca fits perfectly and a 7.5UK fits well, but with some heel slip? Also would the sizing change for loafers versus regular?

I should add, one foot fits better on the Uetam. My smaller foot has help slip whereas the other foot is quite secure.

Based on that, and without further info, I would start with a half size down on Uetam. The vamp will be a little lower than you are used to, but you will almost certainly have slip.

My 10 Simpson loafers fit perfectly. My 9.5 Uetam pair are a bit tight but might break in to be ok.

Is the second 7.5 a Uetam? If so, hard to say ... Inca is quite a bit bigger than Simpson, but if Uetam 7.5 fits well (mostly), that would probably be the way to go with Simpson. This applies to laces or monks - I have no idea how Simpson loafers would work.

Yes, the second 7.5 is Uetam. I thought the instep would be a problem so I didn't go down to a 7; however, it doesn't seem to be a problem. The width is generally fine.

I think Dainite is harder-wearing, and more durable. Tomir is a comfortable, slim sole, but I think Dainite provides a little more cushion underfoot. Not sure how they compare in the winter, I don't find Dainite all that grippy in the first place.

Uetam is shorter and rounder - when I tried a 10uk at the Armoury in HK a gazillion years ago, it felt like my 4th toe was up against the tip of the shoe. They didn't have a 10.5 for me to try on. I have 6 or so pair in 10 on Simpson and a pair on Detroit. 10 in Rain is too long, haven't bought anything in 9.5
