Brooks Brothers is having a sale on shirts now, and is just a few steps from Union Station in Toronto. As for shirts, lots of people here are recommending Maxwell's, but if budget is an issue for you, I have had good luck ordering by mail from Wm Cheng and Son at a price considerably cheaper than Maxwell's ($35 a shirt). Email [email protected] and ask Sandy for fabric samples and the order form. Delivery is within 3 weeks.

I don't think there is one...regardless, have you ever been in one? They should burn that place to the ground. The clothes are just awful. I could do better at a thrift shop.

Harry Rosen has it's outlet at Heartland in Mississauga, not bad, can be hit or miss. As for footwear, be resolved there are no decent options in Canada.

Don't hold back. Tell us how you really feel, Raoul. :)

Actually, I've sometimes done better at thrift shops than almost anywhere else, but don't share your antipathy to Harry Rosen. I admit that it can be hit or miss, but I do think the Samuelsohn suits can be pretty good, if not up to the best I've gotten in HK. And there are some great deals on sales.

I'm with you on their shoes -- I've definitely done better at thrift shops. Picking up a pair of vintage Johnston and Murphy or Florsheim Imperials will leave you with better footwear than anything I've seen at Harry Rosen.
