Sooo this is a first.

I sold a Stefano Ricci Tux last night, wake up and am pretty happy. Pack it up, print the label head out the door to work and will drop it in the mail on my lunch break.

When I get to work eBay has sent me the emails below.

Heart sinks a bit, I call eBay and try to figure out what the deal is basically right away. They tell me to cancel the transaction and they're refunding the fees. OK, go ahead and try to do that, system error on their end. Alright, whatever not great but I'll call and try when I get home.

Just got off the phone with eBay, apparently I can just keep the money and relist the item? I specifically asked several times if they were sure they weren't going to take the money out of my PayPal/Bank Account and the women assured me they wouldn't, and that they were investigating on their end.

I'm going to relist, but I'm super skeptical I can just keep the money. I'll be leaving the money in the Bank account tied to my PayPal for a good long time, I also got a reference number from the woman about that as well.

This seems odd, considering I've never known eBay to let people keep money.
Any insights guys?

I recently found myself a never worn with tags Spring 2013 IZOD Fairy Tale Pink Island Linen Blend Gingham shirt. I was surprised to see one show up on eBay in my size. I know in Fairy Tale I have seen several of the Saltwater shorts from the Spring 2013 collection for a while now, and more recently I am seeing some Spring 2017 Pelican Print Newport Oxford shirts popping up from a few sellers (that is the shirt in my avatar BTW).

@SpecialK2k12 It's like when there's credit card fraud, you don't eat it, and if the merchant did everything right, they keep the money. This is the risk the middleman (ebay in this case) takes, and they have to suck it up and keep everyone happy, for this they charge 10%, you're just getting the protection you pay for.

This is eBay logic. They want you, the seller, to take calls from potential buyers and communicate directly.

They definitely DON’T want you promoting your Instagram or email address on a listing in order to avoid outside sales.

You certainly couldn’t negotiate a sale and take payment over the phone.

As funny as eBay is about transacting business outside of their private messaging system, I am surprised that they are encouraging this.
Unless... they already have our phones bugged. :tinfoil:

I'm sure people call an 800 ebay number and they connect to your number, so they're recording everything.

Also, I see my blocked list expanding exponentially if I had to talk to some of these ppl.
Other ppl, not so much. I'm frequently pleasantly surprised by some communications.
