This is a little ironic, but I actually came here after seeing the pictures of the bourbon strands CMT1 posted ^ after browsing Allen Edmond pictures on instagram....

Probably the sexiest shoe I've ever seen. I'm now convinced that if able to find for the right price, i'm purchasing bourbon strands.

couple quick questions; Should i expect the color of my pair to look identical CMT1's? Or was that particular pair blessed by the AE gods? (lol)

Also, how does the versatility of the bourbon color compare to walnut? Versatility is a must for this purchase

thanks

Wow, it's a small online world! Thanks for the compliment and I agree, the bourbon Strand is stunning. I originally chose the bourbon color over walnut because its darkened might allow for the shoe to be worn with darker suits than Walnut, although obviously this perspective will surely vary due to personal taste. For instance, tomorrow I may wear a dark grey suit, and could maybe wear the bourbon Strands despite them technically being too light for the outfit - something that I would not consider with walnut shoes.

In the end I suspect that I'll go with a light grey suit and wear the walnut cordovan Strands. I personally require a proper black or burgundy shoe for dark grey, but I'll still consider the bourbon Strands before choosing something else. I just want to wear them!

BTW CMT, the only "flaw" (subjective) in your photos is the lacing on your shoes. May I suggest you try straight-lacing them? You may find the look to be cleaner, especially on a shoe as detailed as the strand.

Nice, thanks! Far more aesthetically pleasing, I'm looking forward to wearing them this way.

Funny, the lighting conditions make them seem a very similar color, where the bourbon Strand on the right is usually a lot darker.

...Love the shoes!

My Walnut Calf MacNeil's are not quite as beefy for some reason but my recently resoled Nettletons look like they could kick a wall down and come out no worse for it. My black MacNeil's also look very beefy too-

Was looking at purchasing a pair of Delrays until I read the feedback. The recent feedback is awful. Does anyone have any recent info on these? Sounds like the styling on these have changed recently and not for the better. Looking for some positive feedback or I'm not moving ahead with the purchase of these models....Thanks!

Though, if 1/8 bought those light washed it kinda defeats the purpose :p.

Anyone having any issue with their Rush St's cap toe flexing? Seems the cap toe support on mine is very flexible and seems indent across my big toes on each shoe. Perhaps it is just the nature of the ChromeX leather? Of all my 65 last shoes this by far has the widest lace gap.

Just got the invoice for my first MTO. I was having an issue with sizing the Eagle County, so I finally broke down and ordered multiple pairs in gray off the clearance list a few weeks back and then returned them. Turns out I'm an 8E, same size as my 5-65 last shoes. These just have a bit more room in the toe box, which is actually welcomed.

I was able to get these at the clearance price of $197 since I started my order way back in December. However, Allison would not allow me to order multiple pairs. I was going to get a pair in merlot, chili and bourbon if possible.

Here are my specs:

Model: Eagle County
Size: 8E
Upper: Merlot Calf, extra burnishing on the toe
Stitching: Tone on Tone
Lining: Independence
Insole: Independence
Welt: Black, Reverse
Edge Dressing: Black
Sole: V-Tread Tap Sole
All eyelits, no speed hooks

...and the wait begins.

Anyone have an issues with Long Branch's doing a double crease? I have the normal vamp but also another 2nd one just behind the medallion area on the toe. Its not painful but I can feel it. I wonder if the full grain leather is just softer?

Somewhat second guessing my 12D size. I need to return some 12Es I ordered (which don't do the 2nd crease, but different leather, Grey) to the retail store so will double check my size. Maybe really a 11.5. Any thoughts?

I've done the raw denim thing and, being the impatient and fastidious creature that I am, discovered that I just couldn't put up with months and months of blue everywhere. So, my $350 Flat Heads hang in the back of my closet (please nobody tell Kiya!) and instead these <$100 pre-faded J. Crews serve as my knock-arounds.

If my peers think it appropriate, I will humbly surrender my SF membership.
