Getting a bit discouraged with fitting lately. My feet have changed a good bit over the last 2 years.
I feel like I can't find anything that works well these days. 65 is a no go for me outside of the Strandmok which fits a little wider for whatever reason, as the width I need for my ball /toes ends up being too big in the heel. I bought the Mackenna (201 last) blucher in 10E (my brannock wearing dress socks is like 10.25 E / 10 E). The length feels a bit long but not unbearable, but more problematic is the heel seems too wide and roomy which slips.
I am thinking of ordering the Higgin's Mill as well, but worried as the last time I got a 10.5 E natural, I felt it too long. But my brannock with medium thickness socks is 10.5E / 10.25E, so in theory the HM being popularly regarded as TTS length, should have worked. Any suggestions for sizing here?
My "local" store (about 1.5 hours away) literally never has any wide in stock, so I am constantly having to order, try on, return, wait, repeat. Any suggestions on last that may have a better heel fitment but also allow for a somewhat higher instep / wide forefoot area?
Congrats Donkey! No small feat in the Tinder Age in which we live. Very cool Dalton's, too.Casual Friday and heading out with Mrs. Donkey tonight to celebrate 21 years. Not going anywhere fancy and just doing stupid stuff we used to do when we were 21 at the stupid places that are still around all these years later, so I'll probably just keep this combo going on. Uniqlo selvedge and SMU Oxblood Daltons with red Dainite soles from @ae_ashley. Easily my most complimented pair of shoes, which kills me since they're just my poor man's shell version for now. 22 wears in 2019 and they're finally starting to feel somewhat comfortable for extended periods, which is weird since my Sullivan Streets felt awesome in less than 10 wears.
I hear you one the shape change. It is quite frustrating. For the HM, I've seen a few contributors say they size down half in length before. I presume it is in cases where overall foot length is short compared to arch length, therefore leaving space at the end of the shoe. May be worth a try in your case.Getting a bit discouraged with fitting lately. My feet have changed a good bit over the last 2 years.

Calling 911 right now to put out a pants fire.I've also noticed that my left foot is feeling slightly wider than last year. I'm about to turn 39 next week and I'm starting to push out more against the wall of the upper on the left side. I hope my arch is not slowly starting to flatten out. This could be problematic for the shoes that fit more cozy in the ball area, such as the 511. Some lasts like the 65, 201 and 73 will not be an issue at all.
My wife is holding my bourbon Strands for me when I return home. I told her it was my "last shoe of the 2019".
Question ...not a fan of burnished toes will it fade over time or is it acetone time?
Or leave well enough alone.

Removing burnish on shoes
I have a nice pair of Edward Green RLPL Cardiff Chestnut shoes with the toe cap burnished. I happened to not like the burnish so asked a cobbler I know if they could do anything about it. They said they could use a chemical of some sort to remove the burnish but not damage the leather. When I...www.styleforum.net

Might crust a bitit doesn't bother me at all.
Speaking of which, is there any problem with just leaving a thin layer of VSC on shell (i.e. for shoes I plan to store for a while not brushing off the excess after it is applied)?
Might crust a bit
Very nice. And finally, the proper use of a coffee table.New to the group View attachment 1275585
Brushing it first won’t make it any less storage proofbut presumably I could just brush of the crust? seems to me that it would be a prudent way to store shoes for extended periods but I just wanted to see if there is some downside I'm not considering
You get a lot of vacation days?Another day off, another waiting room. This time for auto repair.
