Alden MTO Forum Group Buy

Actually this is the case. As was stated above, the Ravello cap toe style forum order is with Leffot. They also have a similar boot on the grant last being delivered in a few months.
I have a pre-order in for a pair.

Has anyone been contacted by Leffot? I'm in on the pre-order as well and haven't been contacted yet by Leffot. Kathy really got the ball moving on the Whiskey Indy, and i was hoping for the same from Leffot.

BTW Porter those Whiskey PTBs are fantastic and they are my size, if I didn't already own a pair of them I'd purchase 'em. GLWTS.

If I remember correctly, Keith stated a few pages back that Leffot does things differently than Alden D.C.
Steven (Leffot) will get a confirmation from Alden in a few months. At that time, he will contact those on the pre-order list for a deposit. Then it will additional time before the boots are actually made and shipped out.

Apparently Leffot is also getting some suede captoe boots in this fall. Last year, I picked up a pair of rust suede captoes on the Modified last as seconds from ShoeMart. I couldn't determine the flaw, but I have added a few of my own since then.

I have received two emails from Kathy so far…one confirming my order, and the other confirming machine stitching only on the Indy. I'm asuming that everyone who's in on the Whiskey Indy MTO has received these emails.

All, the Whiskey shortwing boot MTO order that I was trying to put together seems to be working out and we are going to place the order with a friendly retailer this weekend, so if you have any interest, please let me know by Saturday October 8th, so you can be included in the preorder.

The specs are as follows:

Plaza Last
Full Eyelets (matching)
Antique Edge Trim
Closed Heel/Flat Welt
Commando Sole

If you are seriously interested, please pass along your email address and shoe size on the Plaza last to me via PM, so I can send it along to the retailer. He will contact you directly for the 50% deposit that will be required and then the order can be placed. The retailer anticipates the boots being ready in 6 - 12 months, but obviously we are the whim of Alden -- wait will be worthwhile, however, in my opinion.

Pretty excited -- I think it's going to be a pretty badass and unique boot. Haven't seen anything similar out on the marketplace.

What's the reasoning behind the choice of the flat welt? By full eyelets (matching) do you mean blind eyelets (no metal eyelets)?

Called the Alden Shop for those of you that were very confused on the Plaza last like I was. They said its very hard with the Plaza last to know what kind of sizing to expect. Said some styles run slim and others normal width. He somewhat suggested since I explained I'm a 11 1/2 in the Trubalance from Indy 405 that my problem is width and a 11 1/2 E in the plaza could be okay since the length in a 12D might be too long. Hope this helps since a lot of us were confused on this sizing issue.

No explicit rationale behind the choice of a flat welt. Just was the suggested preference of a majority of people. What you are referring to is blind eyelets. Matching eyelets will be painted/antiqued to match the whiskey shell.
