Anybody know what Alden DC has in the way of a Plaza lasted boot?

I'm gonna be there this weekend so I'm hoping I can luck out and find something in an 11.5D or E to try on. I get the suspicion that I'm in the same (gun)boat as Namor when it comes to width.

yeah i mentioned before that i have the SF boot on the plaza last TTS at size 9 and then got some ravello captoe bluchers in 8.5. being measured by kathy at alden dc, i could literally go either way. plaza BOOTS lend themselves to being slightly easier to go up since you can wear thicker socks and/or you have much more capability of tightening the boot around your ankle and top of your foot

but yeah no experience here for grant but ill go with what you guys tell me to do :)

Is there a list somewhere of all the trim choices Alden offers for MTO?

    Natural,
    Antique,
    Regular (brown, black)

I have two takes on the Whiskey SW boot; and they hinge on which last is used. The Plaza last is a sleeker, dressier last, one that I would wear with a suit, no questions asked. The Grant is a closer relative to Barrie and is a little more casual but can just as easily be dressed up. So, depending on the last, here is my take:

    PLAZA
    SOLE: Double Leather

    Eyelets: Blind

    Edge trim: natural

    Welt: Flat welt

    GRANT
    SOLE: Commando

    Eyelets: Blind or Speed-hooks

    Edge trim: Antique

    Welt: Dont care

Wishing I got on the Ravello cap-toe but a SW boot could be interesting. Probably prefer Plaza.

This would be my choice in Ravello, but with a commando sole. If not the commando, then the oiled sole.

    All,

It seems that the following makeup has gotten the strongest acclaim. Couple of finer points that we need to agree on so please let me know if you have a preference.

I am going to create a google document so if you are interested, pm me and I will add you to the list and share the document with you.

    Style: Shortwing Boot

    Color: Whiskey

    Last: Plaza

    Sole: Oiled double or Commando

Welt: Closed heel flat welt (hasn't been a strong preference so open to other suggestions).

    Lacing: All Eyelets

    Trim: Antique Edge Trim

this is a flat welt with a commando sole and antique edge trim. I would like this exact combo on the whiskey sw. for reference, a 360 welt (also know as goodyear?) is what you'll find on a lw Blucher. its that bead of leather around the outside of the shoe just above the sole. the 270 welt is what you commonly find on Indy boots. the bead of leather is similar to the 360 welt but it stops at the heel. that is called a closed heel welt or 270 degree welt.e and antique edge trim.
