More importantly, i'd take the jeans that fit you the best in the waist, and measure the waist band yourself by buttoning them up, laying them flat and measuring the back of it. I think regardless, getting a size 30 would end up working out for you.

I'd sya just wear a bit lower, but thana agin my high-jean wearing ways are a bit different than most on here.

Ok, here's how I measure:

2" below my belly button: 35.5"
Top of thigh: 23"

And my size 32" BSs were about 16.25" across the back of the waist (they're stretched from wear).

If your BS jeans that fit you well measured 32.5" then i'd definitely go with the APC NS in size 30, as they'll measure about 31.5 to start and end up 33 by a week or two probably.

I'm looking for a pair of jeans to do sports in. Specifically rock climbing. Would a apc ns sized down the standard 2 sizes be too constricting even after stretching? Opinions please.

I'd look into a pair of jeans with stretch in them. If you want slim jeans for that purpose, the Levis 511 are really slim and most of the washes are 3% spandex or something. With all the range of motion, you'd probably prefer jeans with stretch more so than 100% cotton apcs. edit: Actually, www.apc.fr now carries APCs in a stretch fabric. Could be what you're looking for. Not sure how the sizing works on those exactly but should work for rock climbing.

Actually, what brands are typically better/worse for bleeding?

Anybody know where to get a good price on New Standards now? Denim Bar, Context, and Azalea are all out of my size (30). I know APC.fr has them, but I was looking for a better price.
