It's tux time. The lapels on the NMWA tux are so wide they scare me. I know the one photo of Greg looking pimptastic in the tux, but are there other pictures out there in the wild? Talk me into this (or not).

Do it, it is awesome. I am going to pick one up at some point or another. As long as you wear a tuxedo with some degree of frequency... I mean, you will just look so incredibly cool, I can't help but think it is worth it.

The only kicker for me is that I don't really wear Tuxedos to... classy events. Usually only Mardi Gras balls and black tie weddings. So at least for me, I have been reticent just because I know that at any of those events, I usually immediately drop my tux off at the dry cleaner. Normally I have a few drinks spilled on me (not my own, I am rather tidy), and my date usually ends up with my jacket. Which sometimes ends up on a chair. Which other people sit on, etc.

In short, I am kind of in the air. On one hand, I would love a SF tux for my own wedding(s), or more controlled events. I have a well fitting tux that does the job right now, but man, those lapels are just great.

Don't not fear the wide lapel, especially on a dinner jacket.

I appreciate the feedback guys and will take your word that the nailhead fabric probably works better as a more traditional suit. I'm in for one. :slayer:

I'd prefer it to be a suit, not a blazer suit. Navy Nailhead seems too suity to me

I have a preference for regular suit features for that one as well. The nailhead could be ok as a blazer but not ideal. On the other hand, the lighter weight of the fabric + half-lining could make it a perfect all-around blue suit for the warmer months or for the areas of the country where heavier weights don't make much sense

Steveoly - if you really want it blazersuit, please email me and we'll do a single MTO. Probably will be a tad more $ but not as much as regular single MTO since we're saving on fabric costs

Or just take Jack Donaghy's approach:

"Liz Lemon: Why are you wearing a tux? Jack: It's after six. What am I, a farmer?"

And @Patrick R I can't imagine how that tux won't be awesome.

When in Rome...

Creepster in Rome is the norm?

Also, those gdl tux pics are my fave tux pics all time. I wish I had even the slightest need for a tux.

Wore something remarkably similar last week... but heh, this has got to be the most comfortable outfit I have right now, and I just love this jacket.

From the NMWA family--Formosa, Rota, and Inglese Tattersall.

Really sharp @Newcomer. Love the color of that jacket with the more neutral tones of the trousers and shirt.

But when are you going to hang up that silhouette of Tennessee?

And @in stitches I think the scene about halfway through L'Avventura when they guy is in Messina talking to the reporter and the movie starlet shows up neatly dramatizes the Italian (albeit here Sicilian) creepstering. As does any time spent observing three Italian guys in a Vespa girl watching. The Italians got it, they do.
