BTW, anyone has suggestions of what lining colour to go with the Dormeuil Sportex?

I think I'd choose navy, or a midblue for a more summery feel. If you're feeling bold, the blue of the selvage...

Edit: unless the fabric is shine-through like some fresco's.

Since the software changeover, my thread has gotten buried, but I know readers of this thread will want to know that I still have for sale dozens of fabric bolts from Alan Flusser's custom operation.

These are fine solid cloths from the best mills & merchants like Harrisons, Lesser, Carlo Barbera, Fintex, etc.

There were 70.

Some bigtimers have feasted on them already, but over 40 wonderful cloths remain.

If you checked before and were not sure if a given cloth was heavy or light, note that fabric weights have now been added

I used gingham check (brown/white) for body lining and stripped shirt sleeve style on my sportscoat.

Oops. That's a bit much for me. I like the idea of gingham lining though. Is it cotton or 'real lining fabric'?

I believe it's cotton fabric. The cloth itself textured, bodied and falls beautifully however I'm slightly concern that it may be too hot during summer hence the quarterly lined jacket. With the paisley I was experimenting and agree that it's a bit too flashy.

Happy with the end result as I can wear this nearly all year round in Sydney (except during heat wave).

JTA, when you said you have a jacket in this cloth, I did not expect it to be the same colour! I find the gingham lining very congruent with the character of a sportsjacket.

The Sportex is a 13 oz/sq yard high twist fresco-like cloth. It has a much more agreeable handle compared to the sandpapery feel of real fresco.

Acquired some old stock Harrisons tweed and beige square weave Woodhouse fresco. Will make the latter up as a sport coat next spring.

Will have the tweed made up as a sport coat for this winter. Apart from pairing it with gray flannels I'm considering other options such as heavy cotton, moleskin or corduroy. Leaning toward a navy corduroy, but open to other suggestion.

I'm having this Moorebrook alpaca being made up as a giacca sfoderata together with these blue flannel pants and a dark blue cambray shirt:

It's a beautiful cloth, wear it well. I hope to do so as well, eventually...
