In a perfect world I would agree. I wish there was enough fabric to make a suit. But unfortunately there was just over 2 meters left, so a jacket it will be. I was so enamored with the fabric that I settled for a jakcet.

In London today and finally managed to drop by W. Bill for a look, and it was well worth it. The place is a treasure trove, and I saw a number of donegals and linens that I've added to my mental "to do" list. Ended up leaving with a suitlength of Irish linen in a lovely color of medium taupe with olive undertones. This should make up nicely. :nodding:

I'd do so much impulse buying in a place like that.

Yay! I'll be stopping back in when I'm on London in September. Ray mentioned that they are moving at some point, but I'm sure it will still have the same appeal.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good basic 10 oz worsted? I had wanted another suit from the Lessers book, only to find out it's unavailable. So I'm looking for the second best choice. Order will be from Chan, so choices are Minnis, Harrison's, Smith. I could go wiith Lesser's 13 oz, but I'm afraid it will be too heavy.

The Harrison's Frontier book seems to be very good.

A somewhat different color palette than the Lesser (fewer genuinely plain colors and more mottling thrown in), but similar quality from what I can tell.

I second the Harrison's Frontier. The one suit I have in it is lightweight, comfortable and drapes beautifully. Edwin DeBoise of Steed also mentioned he's a big fan.

    I like the Thomas Fisher 110s (10oz.)

When I met with Patrick today, he told me the Lessers 10 oz is still available, though with no stock in some fabrics. I picked some fabrics from the 13 oz book and asked that he check the 10 oz book for similar fabrics once back in HK. We'll see what happens. I didn't see the Frontier book though Patrick usually brings it with him. Will Harrison's distributor send out swatches.?

Nice, hopefully they have matching 10 oz fabrics in stock. I don't know about the distributor but Harrison's main office is great about sending out swatches (even of Lesser, which they now own).

Thanks - is it just their generic linen book?
