Strange. Correct me if I am wrong, Bloomingdale's doesn't carry Kiton & Charvet but then I haven't been to Bloomie's for ages.

I could be wrong on Blomies label, but it was definitely one of the high-end stores, could have been Bergdorf. I'll have to check when I get home.

I am talking about TJM on 6 Ave and 18 Street

Barneys has socks--Made in England with hand linked toe private label--on sale for $9, and full cut cotton boxers for $9. Richard James socks are $19. Drakes ties for Barneys are half priced (around $62), and they have a number of Kiton ties for $112 (from $225). Didn't make it to the tailored floors or look through the shirts . .

It was probably Bergdorf. Bloomingdale's doesn't carry those brands, and I've seen quite a few items from Bergdorf at TJ Maxx lately.

Some really nice deals there. Especially if ties are really that cheap and there are many good deals to be had, then would somebody be kind enough to purchase a few of the choicer items and put some up on the Buying/Selling forum for those not fortunate enough to live in the US?

CT always have 50% or more on their online stuff so I'm not sure how much of a deal that really is.

Went to Loro Piana this morning. It's the last day. They had some beautiful things, including gorgeous cashmere bolts, but prices are still silly. The bolts were 80% off, but 4 yards of cashmere was $5000 before markdown. Storm system cashmere vest, reversible, was originally $1900, but still $800. The best deal was probably white linen pants for $70 and ties for somewhere between $20 and $30, including a few made by Michael Drake. They had some very nice sportcoats, with three open patch pockets, minimal lining, and cashmere fabric, but they were pricey.

Don't know if you tried on any of the sportcoats, but i find the LP jackets to fit real weird. Relatively low gorge, baggy fit. There were a few NWT on ebay recently at giveaway price relative to retail but I'm glad I didn't bite.

I didn't. They were still too pricey for me, or in weird colors, and I've run out of sportcoat space in my closets. I have tried them on at sales in the past and never found them to fit me well.

I went to check out the Chelseas. The 50% is off the full price ($325), not the current sale price ($250). At $165+/- they might not be worth it (I was hoping to get them for $125). I guess i should just drop the extra $75-$100 and go for the RM Williams.

Odd because Bloomingdales was the launch store for the Kiton Black fragrance.

Not too weird considering selling a bottle of fragrance for $70 is more acceptable than trying to sell a $700 kiton shirt. I'm not 100% sure about the bloomie's in NYC, but everywhere else, they don't carry Kiton, borelli, cucinelli, brioni, etc. Not bloomie's market...
