Vass not taking orders in summer?

I was just wondering if Vass takes orders in the summer. I emailed Gabor almost a week ago because I would like to place an order but I have not received an response yet. I know the factories close in August, but I'm not sure about their office. Maybe they don't want my business...

I was able to try on Vass at Isetan in Tokyo, and everyone on the forum who suggested a 42.5 as my size was dead on. They sold for 129,000 yen. As a side note, Greens on the 888 last started at 144,000 yen, yikes!!

Gabor's email response can be erratic. Just keep trying.

Gabor is very busy. But he should eventually get back to you.
You should be able to place an order but of course there will be a 1+- month hiatus in the pending order.

For curiosity's sake, does that comport with what you normally wear i EU sizing? Do you know what size you take in the Green 888 last?

i would assume 41.5 is his usual Euro size as you do have to size up in U last.

42 , if he got 42.5 in any other last .

I wear 42.5 in every Euro sized shoe including the U-last. You absolutly do not NEED to size up. You need to try them on.

The only details I can provide you are that I wear a size 8 UK on the C&J last 337 and a UK 8 on the JL 4800 last.

I definitely agree with this statement, as I did not find the shoe tight. I have a high arch and did not find any discomfort in the U-last. I should add though, that I think Vass makes true to size lasts, while most other manufacturers make them slightly smaller. This could be why people think you have to size up for Vass. Of course, this is only in my experience, others may feel differently.

So if I am a US 10 = UK9, then i would be a EU 43.5 in the Vass U-last? Is that correct?
