You define yourself by wealth. Inherently middle class.

Define yourself by lineage, then you'll be upper class.

/Disc: Closer to lower class than anything else by this metric.

Rich people don't spend their time at a place called Style Forum.
Truth be told, the majority of people here are in huge debt due their stylish wants.

Why was this post censored and deleted?
I think this is spot on, and is probably more true than most of the posts in this thread.
Sad that SF is veering towards 1 allowed opinion and a bunch of yes men.

I would ask the same question. For the most part, it's probably true ... sad but true. From what I read, many people here do go into debt attemtping to build the perfect wardrobe. Heck, I could have retired ten years before I did if I hadn't used London tailors.

Throw into the mix, The Millionaire Next Door (middle class value system) vs. the hustler MLM Ponzi get rich quick guy, some of whom actually get rich.

Probability-wise, is the road to wealth built on adding value to the equation and thrift, on adding value to the equation and spending a lot of money in the process, or in creating a pet rock?

I tend to be more the conservative middle class type, but I wonder whether this is holding me back or whether its a virtue.

With the knowledge that there are a good deal of wealthy folk here (making, say, $500,000 per year plus), and probably a good deal of formerly wealthy folk, I would appreciate your thoughts on this question.

Among the most toolbaggy things I've ever read.

The post in question was spamminated along with thecrepeat troll that posted it. What the post said is irrelevant as the spammination function deletes en masse. Interesting conclusion you jumped to though.

Do you like it? It's free.

This thread is sadly lacking references to $500 shoes, btw.

I believe the threshold of $500 is not a random number, but exactly the amount of money you'd blow on shoes if you were serious about it. I read it on teh internetz

So far, based on my toilet-seated reading:

Don Carlos - Mary Ann
foodguy - the Professor
stilwater - the Captain (purely because of weight)
Reevolving - Gilligan
RSS - Ginger (yeow!)

My list is not yet complete.

Also, many of the themes of this thread are addressed completely in another sitcom, The Jeffersons.. (Manton, this show is not about Thomas Jefferson, but a descendant.)

Those with sophisticated tastes (viz., clearly not middle class) realize that Mary Ann is hotter than Ginger, so I accept the outcome of your analysis with open arms and full bosom.

Given my age ... Ginger is still a compliment. That said, I'm sure Vox has his reasons for the casting. Perhaps it's due to the fact that Tina Louise clashed with the producers because she believed that she was to be the main focus of the show despite its title. Then again, it could be the wardrobe.

Is the coveted role of Thurston Howell III ("The Millionaire") reserved for that blessed prosperity-gospel messiah whom the prophets say will enter this threak and set the record straight once and for all on the distinction between middle- and upper-class?

Some suspect this man walks among us. Others say he is not yet born. And some say he posted many months ago, under the name Spalla Camicia, but was crucified by an ungrateful populace of scofflaws and socialists.

I think, "Deficient mind in a blue collar body" would hit the mark better.
