I guess I can see the shirt, though, like Manton, I don't think it's something I'd choose for myself. The ties I'm less convinced by, though I like them fine on their own.

I do think certain people would be eager to look down on a discount store purchase with a purple pinstripe or overcheck.
I know Mafoo said he can't picture it, but I'm pretty sure a blue shirt will go with a brown tweed jacket. I think he was confused and thought of his brown jacket was a blue or purple jacket. If he starts thinking of it as a brown jacket, he will be fine.
Really? The first thing that comes to mind is a blue end on end or oxford with that fabric.
I agree, it seems like foo blue would be fine with that cloth. It's not something I would have chosen, but I do like it, and don't think the colors make it look crazy.
That is their problem ... unless one is concerned about such things.
I'm not, personally. Though it does get tedious being told that bargain hunting is a sure path to a bottom-of-the-barrel wardrobe filled with things like purple pinstripes.
You mean, (gulp)...your class?
See, the funny thing here is not so much your ridiculous class anxiety, but that you display it so obviously and unconsciously on the internet. When you pretend you are descended from French nobility on the internets, you tell us all about your real "tribe."
The best thing about this cloth is that it will allow ready inferences by strangers about the wearer's family, personal relationships, finances, genetics, emotional state, scholastic accomplishments, susceptibilty to psychic powers, and intelligence...and also preferred flavors of ice cream and Netflix habits.
AndrewRogers is a truly wonderful person to work with... he deserves every penny that he makes and I wish him the best in his venture.
