yea, depending on the item, I'd be a S or even XS, and then something wouldnt fit right (like the neck on shirt would be too tight even tho the chest and shoulders are fine)

It can be tricky even for those of us a bit larger (I'm about 6'2" and 185 lbs). For example, I usually take a large in a casult sport shirt, but in some brands a medium will fit me better in the chest and shoulders, but the sleeves will be 1/2 inch too short. If I step up to a large, the sleeve length is fine, but then the shoulders and chest are too big.
