I wear a size 31 in Iron Hearts SEXIH07BKs...

http://fourhorsemen.ca/shop/weapon-twill-chino-khaki/

I'm only left with a option of size 30 or 32...

I think these are very similar to the S/S 10 West Point Chinos, but in a slightly thicker cotton. Generally w+h pants are a tad over sized in the waist and seat. A marked 30 will most likely be just fine for a 31" waist. I would not advise sizing up.

I size down my w/h pants and I think a lot of others do too.

^^ My exp. too.

Also, thigh and leg opening are quite slim relative to top block, so these seem to not be an option unless you have average to below average thighs/ass (and like a skinny calf area).

So if I fill out my current jeans in the thigh/ass area.... W+H is not a good bet for me?
(I'm about 5'5 155lb with a athletic build..)

This is true. The butt and waist is large, and the thigh and leg is normally pretty narrow. Really narrow actually. Especially the opening. That's why I try and wear these pants with no break. If you have larger than average thighs or calves - beware. You might have to shimmy in and out. Here is a pic of me in west point chinos, size 28. I have relatively small legs but they are really, really slim.

Dude, no ****, but if you can post a pic of your lower body...

only way to tell if they'd be a good fit. 5'5" 155lbs is going to be borderline..

Yeah, also depends on the cut of the jeans you're filling out.

I can't wear W+H pants sadly, since I love the fabrics, etc. Just too slim overall.

One of the more recent f/w 10 offerings is the heavy thermal pullovers and cardis.

I took a chance and did the small instead of medium. I don't plan on wearing anything underneath unless a white t-shirt that wouldn't be visible. Anyway, I just ignored the measurements and based the decision purely on the Acrimony's model fit. He's 6 foot, 150 lbs, and 29" waist -- bigger than me.

He always does the fits for the site in a size M in w/h. But I figured if he can do it, I'll give it a shot. These thermals are super stretchy and contour to the body. Fortunately it fit. And pretty good actually.

So if anyone is considering these Heavy Thermals (navy and gray, pullovers, and cardis), then my recommendation is true to size.

One thing to note on the Navy Blue thermal pieces (these heavy thermals, and the layer pieces...) -- they pick up every piece of lint or fiber possible. I don't but not recommended if you live in a house with a dog or cat....(people who own these already, you know what I mean. Those considering, you've been warned. A really, really nice shade of navy blue though - when it's lint rolled).

Okay, too close to call. These measurements below are going to be pretty accurate for the weapons chinos. You be the judge...

edit: Just to check Guy, did you measure the inseam on the waist 32s? The fourhorsemen site says 32s are out of stock.

The measurements i took were off of the Olive version, which we still have in stock in 32. Wasn't sure if you were looking at the charcoal exclusively.

Thanks Guy, didn't even know about the olive version, they are beautiful.

Looking at the measurements posted by slack tide, this is a tough one.
