Heya. I'm going to be a high school senior this September and I"m doing some back-to-school shopping. I was in the Allen Edmonds discount store yesterday and I had trouble deciding which shoe to purchase. Which shoe is more versatile? Which can be more eaily dressed up or down?

Thanks in advance, guys. I really appreciate your help.

Well, they both balmorals in nearly the same shade of brown. They have some slight differences, but would serve similar purposes in a wardrobe. Neither is really much more versatile than the other, if at all. Some would say a balmoral is more of a suit shoe, which I suppose it is, but you can wear it with what we will call a "dressier" outfit, something with wool slacks or nice chinos. That said, it is your shoe, you can wear it with whatever you want. If you are looking for something that would go more with jeans and chinos, you might look at a blucher-style shoe.
