I too wear linen whenever the heck I feel like it because I love it. I rarely wear it ouside the house in Winter, but I do wear linen all year 'round.

Oh, and of course, baseball caps with my ponytail pulled through.

I occasionally wear a ballcap.

I occasionally (and feel shame while doing it) wear rubber-soled shoes.

I am guilty of the ones emphasized in Manton's post.

I should add the disturbing fact that I will pair jeans with just about anything. That means I can be spotted with a very formal attire, but with jeans (I am wearing today a FC shirt with metal vintage cufflinks, dress shoes, knee-length socks, but with jeans).

Astaire did it differently. He used a collar pin to fasten the collar under the tie knot, and buttoned the collar points. Satchmo's method here is even stranger. Though I admit I have seen some pics of him incredibly well turned out. For example:

I have a friend who used to hate all button down collars... until he found out it was military in origin. (Military of course meaning an officer happened to invent it.) Then it's suddenly okay.
