I love Shuggie's original of Strawberry Letter, but the bassline on the Brothers version sounds so great coming out of my car stereo speakers

Ira's short solo on "Stockholm Syndrom" is stunning.

What a great album by a great band.

I mistakenly avoided Yo La Tengo all through the nineties. Based on their name and some reviews I assumed they were a *****assed hippie band that sounded something like Iron and Wine or Sulfjan Stevens.

Literally, I had never heard a single song until a girl in college forced me to listen to this album, and I can remember almost going into ecstacies. I still think it's near-perfection. In 50 years people with good taste are going to be playing this record.

Completely agree about Ira's little solo. He has a couple of those little jems sprinkled on every record. The solo at the end of Pablo and Andrea is one for all time.
