I ordered the swatches from Dugdale earlier, just to start getting some handy.

Bateman and Ogden

Cream book - which is apparently ~300gm wool with anti-spill properties

Some patterns:

Cream with brown+red checks DD4

DD12.jpg

A very dense gunclub,
Cream with brown+red small check DD12

DD38.jpg

Cream with burgundy DD38

This is an interesting book.

BB28.jpg

The BB book is said to be hopsacks. 290 GMs. This is the red/terracotta, nothing really pink

DP1359.jpg

Subtle Dusty Pink & White / Orange check DP1359

Their "Spice" book has a number of unusual, lower contrast patterns
I like the red terracotta look.

Cacciopoli surprisingly doesn't seem to have much germane for SS '23.

Back to Britain:

This is WSL blend sharkskin pale pink from Kynoch's Montrose Bay book via Pepper Lee

Same book has

WSL26-R6046-D7-32000-WAVY_ee37e504-6ac0-4e1f-87a9-5f101dfb8595_1280x.jpg

Which has more going on that I am looking for, I think. Continuing in this book:

I'd like the windowpane to be a bit more pronounced if it is going to be there. Not sure I am looking for this salmon-tone.

Described as pink, nor salmon, but more fuschia. Nah.

There are a couple other herringbones, one super pale.

Quick editorial interjection - the subtle windowpane works beautifully when there is much more contrast:

you forgot these iterations:

i really like this option and considering this for a jacket - I'm between Dugdale's Mock Leno and this one:

I think I mentioned somewhere that I am a herringbone skeptic for spring+summer - it feels too tight of a weave.

I can also share that I am a Pepper Lee skeptic - US$61 shipping for fabric swatches is something they are going to need to solve.

$61 is a lot to ship some swatches. Out of curiosity, if you're skeptical about herringbone, I assume you're also skeptical about twill?

Another one. Of course one can use jacket and trousers as separates too. Again, nice pink tone and texture.

Dugdale has a pink Mock Leno in their TropicalAir book:

From a suiting standpoint

dv_2020_08_12_11_07_22_9504.jpg

dv_2020_08_12_11_07_24_70576.jpg

This is in the Needle Ready book, and is one of their "Sunburst" two faced, thus the different tones. 98/2 wool cashmere, 9oz.

The Dugdale hopsack is a little too intense and contrasty - it is like the warp is white threads, and the weft is Pepto Bismol, so the photo above is more representative of how it looks at a distance.

The two tone suiting fabric is super interesting. It has a substantial sheen to it.

Also pretty nice, this cloth from the Huddersfield Snow Flake bunch, here in a Steed jacket.
