what is this style of lining and where can I buy some?

I had a MTM jacket made at Nordstrom a few years ago. The vendor was Hart Schafner Marx. The base jacket liner has a nice dynamic look:

Whereas the standard, generic "dark navy" Bemberg lining is dull by comparison:

What is the particular style of the HSM Bemberg lining in the first pic? How does it achieve a more dynamic appearance?

The differences in appearance obtain because of the way in which it is woven. Difficult to say it has a style as such although someone might have heard of one, although, always remember there maybe more than one such.

It may also be that it is exclusive to Nordstrom and not available to casual purchasers or other tailors. For different options visit the websites of the 'The Lining Company', 'Lear Browne and Dunsford' or 'Bansteins'. I use LBD and I suspect that it also wholesales to the other two to an extent at least.
