Wow, I'll be 40 in three years. Bungee jumping is really not that big a deal, I don't see why a fit 70 year old couldn't do it. I mean, for my 40th, I am kicking around doing the RAAM (Ride Across America on your bike), or if I don't have the time for that, a double century ride the day of. And I am carrying an extra 25lbs around the middle but could do a century any given Saturday and go drinking that night. At 50 I plan to move to Europe for at least a year and see where that takes us. There's no doubt some choices start to make less sense as you get older (and more importantly, have more committments), but really, life does not stop. I think I do more social things now than I did 10 years ago, as I have loads more money and no school to worry about.
I think there is a real difference between youth and middle adulthood: your view of age and what's "old" changes.
+1. My dad just went snowboarding for the first time last year at 57. It is amazing how many people in his age group (or even 15 years younger) seem to think that is completely nuts. I have also got him to go to Whistler mountain bike park, bungee jumping, and with any luck surfing this summer.
So with that said I guess what worries me is that I might end up as a 40 year old who thinks bungee jumping is out of the realm of possibilities.
