I think there should be a category for "Guys who think Barbour and all this cool casual outerwear is awesome, but live in the burning wasteland of Los Angeles."
I find my Barbour works well with Pasadena weather 3-4 months a year. Now, I know what you may be thinking-Barbour is not indigenous to So Cal culture. You're right of course, but neither am I.

How about “guys who kinda like suits but work remotely and clothes basically only matter from the waist up”.
Getting dressed like I was going to work and then changing at the “end” of the day kept me sane while WFH. Sometimes with shoes.

I own black captoes I wear rarely, but cannot bring myself to buy or wear any loafers. Agree with whoever said burgundy Oxfords are more versatile/useful. No navy suit, but yes to grey. No occasion for black tie, but would like to pick one up.

Did not see some sort of “alt suit” on the list, something checked/patterned in grey or brown. Is that non-canon?

Everything else, yes, in some cases multiples-cold weather climate, will be in the teens overnight next week.

I don't own a classic black tux, but I do have a Burgundy velvet dinner jacket and accompanying black tux pants.

Living in So Cal has made it easy to get by without a proper overcoat, trench coat or peacoat. However, going out to shows, events, nice dinners last winter put my mind on the idea of getting something simple and versatile for those occasions on colder nights. The same goes for a good pair of gloves.

I don't own any brown oxfords but brown wingtip derbies, black cap-toe oxfords, and oxblood loafers have me covered for most occasions that call for dress shoes.

My only french cuff shirt is a tuxedo shirt.

CM heavy winter coat (or even a chesterfield, sold a long time ago), I prefer stuff with a hood for practical winter purpose, though if there are some nice beefy Cm DB coat for cheap might buy.

also don’t have charcoal suit think because I tried navy and charcoal side by side once and just decide I prefer navy and stick with it (though do have dark grey)

I have one “real navy” (not light blue) blazer but I might as well sell it since I don’t ever wear it (used to be mon Thu I wear suit then Friday sport coat but then I would want something more than just navy blazer)

It would be faster to list the CM basics I DO own.
Here goes:
  1. dark-wash denim jeans
That's it, I'm not even kidding, and it still barely even counts, because they're womens bootcut jeans that I have to wear with clip-on braces because the rise is too high to be worn with at the hips with a belt and too short to be worn at the waist with a belt.

The rest of my wardrobe is a slapdash assortment of near-garbage tier excuses for "menswear" that probably don't even cost more than $150 dollars in total, including a stark-black shirt that only just fits in the collar, and hangs like a parachute everywhere else, which I bought for 1 dollar off a clearance rack outside of a thrift store. That alone makes up about 50% percent of my shirt collection. I have two shirts.

So that’s a no on tassel loafers?
