Notes of toffee and oak are great togther, vanilla shows up mostly in the nose. Kind of a lighter drink, but a nice one nonetheless...

Glasses are C&B, very nice for the price, especially compared to the Spiegelau

El Dorado 15 is very nice, I approve.

I am drinking a cocktail known as Pennicilin, which originated at Milk & Honey NYC but has seen a wide distribution. My recipe, which mainly differs in that I do the hony/ginger syrup in one:

2 oz Glenlivet Nadurra
1 oz Ginger-Honey syrup (1:1 honey:water, lots of ginger coins, boil, strain)
3/4 oz Lemon juice
Float of Caol Ila

Yumyumyum.

Scotch & scotch is always a winner. This sounds interesting, especially with the ginger. Does the honey make it a little Drambuie-esque? I tried the new Maker's 46. HIGHLY recommended. WAY better than regular Maker's, which isn't that bad itself. A little more complex, and despite a slightly higher alcohol content, it's remarkably smooth.

I'd say that the honey works as well with the Scotch as Drambuie does, but it lacks that spiciness. It's just clean. It really is very nice. I'm having a nother right now and thoroughly enjoying it, thought I went with Aberlour A'bundah for the float, which is not as good as the Caol. Thanks for the tip on the Makers. ~ H

I liked it, lots of malt and some chocolate, and maybe molasses... Wasn't too sweet, definitely worth a try. Would have been nice with a gooey brownie or cake for dessert.
