Hey guys,

Im creating a blog about mens fashion and grooming and I want to know your thoughts on what the most annoying parts about mens fashion are. What are some problems you have while trying to stay fashionable and what do you wish was different about mens fashion?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
Matt

Why don't you try to come up with your own answers? That way, your blog will be your thoughts, not some rehashing of other online pablum.

Thanks for the input, I definitely do have my own thoughts and problems with mens fashion and will be writing about them. However, Im curious as to what other people feel and want to see if they have similar problems or problems I might not have even thought about.

Men's "fashion", narrowly defined, I'm sure many people here don't know much about. If you quiz me on what's the latest coming out of the runways of Paris or Milan, you'd get a blank stare.

If only there was a website, possibly one with heavily populated message board, that could serve as a type of forum where people discussed style and grooming. There could even be dumb threads for random stuff.

For me, it's the admiration of the Duke of Windsor. Obviously the man was a sharp dresser, but when people venture into the admiration of his character and personality, I'm lost. Perhaps I'm wrong, but isn't this the man who had numerous affairs with married women and then essentially abandoned his nation just before they faced invasion? And yet we claim to be "modern gentlemen" as we praise a man devoid of character.

I would agree, but I don't recall seeing anyone on this forum admire the character of the Duke of Windsor. Perhaps I've just missed it somewhere.

It might be a bit much to say he abandoned his nation as it faced invasion. He had lived with Simpson in France since marrying her in 1936. He got appointed governor of Bermuda (and shipped there) in August 1940 at the behest of the War Cabinent to get him the heck out of Dodge after one too many statements and photo ops viewed, unwittingly or not, as useful for Nazi propaganda purposes. Sort of like when you steer your tipsy uncle away from some of the guests at the wedding reception.

I haven't seen it on this site, but I do seem to recall it on a few blogs with articles on him and his style. The worst were found in the comments along the lines of "He's inspired me to live my life carefree and not care what others think of me...." Bleh.

Well, Hitler gained full power in 1933. The Duke abdicated in 1936. Three years later Panzers were tearing through Poland and by 1940 the bombing of Britain had begun. It's not like one day out of the blue Hitler said, "Hey Britain, we're going to take you over." I presume that military intelligence would have been aware of the threat to the nation and that as a king, you would have had access to military intelligence. Of course, the Duke was held in such low regard that they were loathe to send him classified information, so perhaps he didn't know. Anyways, it's all conjecture. I think he abandoned his nation; you don't. Thats all fine.

Nothing bothers me about men's fashion. I wish I had the $$$ to embrace it all.
